Quality Control ManagerPosition OverviewThe Quality Control Manager will lead and manage the quality assurance and quality control program across construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities. This role ensures project deliverables meet contract requirements, design specifications, and industry standards through robust systems, inspections, testing, and documentation control. The manager will collaborate with design, construction and commissioning teams to prevent defects, drive continuous improvement and maintain consistent quality across field and shop activities.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and maintain the project quality management system, procedures and checklists to meet contract and regulatory requirements.Plan, schedule and oversee inspections, tests and commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical and systems installations to verify compliance with design and specifications.Lead field quality teams and inspectors; coordinate with construction and commissioning leads to address non-conformances, corrective actions, and closure.Review and approve quality documentation including inspection and test plans (ITPs), punch lists, test reports, certificates, and turnover packages.Perform design and contract reviews from a quality perspective to identify constructability, testability, and compliance risks early.Manage supplier and subcontractor quality performance, including audits, submittal reviews, and hold-point verifications.Coordinate functional and integrated systems testing and commissioning activities, ensuring test protocols are followed and results are documented.Oversee mechanical system inspections and pressure/functional testing, ensuring safety and code compliance.Maintain accurate documentation control, track non-conformances, and report quality metrics to project management.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, root-cause analysis, and lessons-learned activities to reduce rework and improve quality outcomes.Ensure timely and complete project turnover, producing comprehensive turnover documentation and training where required.Provide training and mentorship to field and quality personnel on quality processes, inspection techniques, and best practices.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).5+ years of progressive quality control experience in construction, design review, commissioning, or related environments; previous supervisory experience preferred.Proven experience with quality systems, inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover on large projects.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, field inspection techniques, and testing methodologies.Familiarity with contract requirements, submittals, documentation control, and contract compliance processes.Experience preparing and reviewing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, punch lists, and turnover packages.Proficient with quality management software, MS Office, and document control systems.Certifications such as ASQ CQA/CQI or NACE or equivalent are a plus.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills; able to coordinate multidisciplinary teams in the field and office.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and risk mitigation.BenefitsHealth/Vision/Dental Insurance401(k)Vacation/PTO/Sick Leave
